Honor is preparing to make an ambitious entry into the market with its new gaming phone series, the Honor WIN. The company aims to differentiate itself by focusing on an issue often overlooked in gaming phones: eye comfort.
Before the official launch on December 26th, Honor confirmed that every phone in the upcoming WIN series will feature a technology it calls the “AI Oasis Eye Protection Gaming Display.” This display is specifically optimized for 3D games and fast-paced visuals. It also includes built-in anti-dizziness technology designed to reduce eye strain and motion discomfort during long gaming sessions.
Honor WIN Gaming Phone Redefines Eye Comfort
One of the most striking features of this new series is the screen’s 5920Hz PWM dimming technology. Honor claims this is the industry’s highest “zero-risk” flicker control. This technology eliminates screen flicker, especially at low brightness, reducing eye strain. However, the panel also managed to obtain the TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 5.0 certification, which covers issues such as dry eyes and fatigue during prolonged use.
The WIN series will consist of two models: the Honor WIN, positioned as the flagship, and the Honor WIN RT, with slightly more modest specifications. Both devices share a common feature: a massive 10,000mAh battery aimed at long gaming sessions without frequent charging breaks.
Honor is also quite ambitious in terms of performance. The top model of the series, the WIN, will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, supported by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. On the audio side, there is Honor Surround Subwoofer 2.0 technology with dual symmetrical speakers for a louder and more immersive sound experience.
Durability also appears to be one of the series’ focal points. The entire series has IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance certifications. Honor, with its WIN series, targets the most demanding mobile gamers by focusing not only on raw performance figures but also on long-term comfort.
